Worn on the surgeon’s head during the operation, the headset is used to select the direction in which the surgeon wants the camera to move. With a simple head movement, the correct direction appears on the indicator unit, and the surgeon uses the footswitch to activate the system, moving the camera in the desired direction.

This unit sits above the camera display screen and indicates the current direction and setting that the FreeHand system is in. When the headset is moved, the change of direction is registered on the indicator display so that the surgeon can see which way the camera will move before engaging the footswitch.The FreeHand system footswitch is used to activate movement. Once the surgeon has chosen the direction of travel and depressed the footswitch, the scope view will move in the desired direction. With a quick tap, the system switches between the Zoom and Tilt functions, allowing the surgeon to view whatever they need.
